Description
Project: Complete renovation and extension of a fully original 1970s home, transforming it into a modern family residence. The brief was to strip the house back to its bare shell and rebuild it with contemporary living spaces, including two new extensions, an enlarged internal garage, a master ensuite, and comprehensive exterior landscaping with a pool area.
Challenges: Working with a 1970s structure necessitated a careful assessment of the existing foundations and framing to support the new roof and extensions. Coordinating the demolition while preserving structural elements that could be retained was crucial for project efficiency. The new roof installation over existing and new sections needed precise engineering. Managing the extensive scope – from interior rebuild through to pool paving and landscaping – required careful sequencing to ensure each trade could complete their work without impacting others.
The result: What was once a dated 1970s home is now a stunning modern family residence that perfectly balances style and functionality. The new extensions created the spacious living areas the family needed, while the enlarged internal garage adds practical everyday convenience. The master bedroom en-suite provides that luxury touch, and the contemporary kitchen, with its striking dark cabinetry and timber benchtops, has become the heart of the home. The exterior transformation is equally impressive, featuring new decking, professional pool paving, and a driveway that creates a complete outdoor entertainment area. The clients now have a home that looks and feels completely new while maximising their existing site.
